Herbal remedies refer to plants, flowers, berries, and other plant life used for medicinal purposes. Plants were used as a form of healing in the ancient world. Today, many people use herbal remedies in lieu of conventional medicine to cure various ailments. These are some of the most popular:

Ginkgo – Ginkgo is used to promote the facilities of memory, judgment, and awareness. This herbal remedy is used as a treatment for Alzheimer's disease.

Kava Kava- Though the United States has issued warnings about the use of kava because it has been linked to liver damage, there are those who use it to relieve anxiety symptoms.

St. John's Wort – St. John's Wort has been found to effectively treat mild to moderate depression.

Echinachea – This herbal remedy is used to bolster immunity. Studies have shown the herb to reduce the effects of cold and flu symptoms.
